The Song of Siri Dale, from Evard Grieg's 19 Norwegian Folksongs Op. 66, is a marvellous miniature for piano (available separately) incorporated into this choral piece. Inspired by a folk song, the original words (attributed to Frants Beyer, 1896) are the basis for this short, original arrangement for SATB choir and piano.

I was but barely seventeen when I fell in love,

Which will never leave my memory for as long as I shall live.

While others enjoy themselves in their youth

I must grieve in sorrow, shedding many tears,
