The Song of Siri Dale, from Evard Grieg's 19 Norwegian Folksongs Op. 66, is a marvellous miniature for piano. Inspired by a folk song, the original words (attributed to Frants Beyer, 1896) have also inspired our (separate) original arrangement for SATB choir. This edition is a re-engraving of just the original, unedited piano piece without the choral additions.

Here it is played by Norwegian pianist Geir Botnen from the CD Grieg: Norwegian Folk Songs and Peasant Dances from Op. 66 & Op. 72 ~ youtu.be/M2ViFTAoHvI

The CD also includes a version of the folk tune sung by Reidun Horvei ~ youtu.be/vldwtK44Mg8

There's also an unusual, haunting version played by Norwegian jazzz musician, Karl Seglem, from his 2010 CD Ossicles ~ youtube.com/watch?v=-Dlgep5zQ8c
